Cabinet secretary for Public Service and former attorney general has fired back at president Ruto's remarks.
This comes just after President Ruto term him as " fairly incompetent" during his tenure as attorney general. The President criticized Muturi as the reason behind the delay of the Muslim Endowment Fund, Waqf, during a state dinner with the Islam leaders.
In a quick rejoinder to this , Muturi answered that while the Waqf act no.8, 2022 exists, it does not provide for the creation of a Muslim Endowment Fund.
He insisted that it is a personal initiative by any individual who professes Islam.
“Under the Waqf Act no.8 of 2022, there’s no provision for a “Muslim Endowment Fund. It must be understood that a Waqf is a religious, charitable or benevolent endowment by a person who professes the Muslim faith and is managed by the Waqf Commission,” Muturi stated.
The Public Service Minister went on defending his tenure as attorney general completely refuting president Ruto's remarks.
