ICHUNG'WAH FIRES BACK AT GACHAGUA OVER HIS REMARKS ON THE 10B

National Assembly Majority Leader and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah has hit back at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his response to President Ruto’s claim on the Ksh10 billion .

In a brief rejoinder, Gachagua who had been accused of demanding Ksh10 billion to convince more supporters from the vote-rich central region, strongly refuted the claims asserting that pathological lying is a mental disorder which threats the country. In a subsequent response, Ichung’wah, told off Gachagua , in quite a sarcastic message, highlighting; 
”True. If you still tell lies, believe in your own lies and expect people to believe in your lies. Utapona tu ndugu.”

All this follows Ruto's joint media interview at Sagana State Lodge,on Monday, March 31, 2025, where the President revealed the reasons behind Gachagua's impeachment, among this he mentioned that the impeached Dp demanded Ksh10 billion to help drum up support in the populous central region, unless he would make him a one-term president :

”Ikanifikia mimi, unajua mimi (Rigathi) naweza kukufanya one term president, nahitaji bilioni kumi ndio niende niongee na watu wa mlimani nikupangie siasa. I said I will not do it. Kama wewe ndio kuamua one term, amua vile unataka,” translated as ;

”Gachagua told me that I would be a one-term president if I did not meet certain conditions. He asked for Ksh10 billion to talk to the Mt Kenya region. I told him I would not do it. I told him if it’s one term, it’s okay if you’re the one to decide.”

Moreover, the head of state added that the continuous scuffles between Gachagua and other state officials like blogger Dennis Itumbi and MPs, Ndindi Nyoro and Kimani Ichungwa'h as the usher to his impeachment.
