Hundreds of mourners have turned up in Isiolo Town on Thursday to bid farewell to the late Isiolo South Member of Parliament, Mohamed Tubi Bidu, who has been laid to rest at the Tuloroba Muslim Cemetery in accordance with Islamic rites.

MP Mohamed Tubi Bidu passed away due to a prolonged illness on Wednesday, November 12, while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.

The solemn ceremony brought together national and county leaders, family members, and residents who gathered to celebrate the life of a man widely described as humble, peace-loving, and devoted to his people.

Leading the mourners was National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, who hailed the fallen legislator as a servant leader committed to peace and development in his constituency.

“He continued to represent the people of Isiolo South diligently in Parliament despite his health challenges. His commitment to his constituents was evident throughout his tenure,” Wetang’ula said.

He urged the people of Isiolo to honor their late MP by remaining united, adding that “death is inevitable, but the legacy one leaves behind is eternal.”

Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali also joined mourners in celebrating the MP’s life, describing him as a “peace-loving leader whose legacy should inspire continued harmony in the region.”

Isiolo Senator, who attended the burial, expressed gratitude to the National Assembly leadership for supporting the late MP’s family during his illness, noting that Speaker Wetang’ula personally intervened to ensure his medical needs were met after his insurance coverage ran out.

President William Ruto led Kenyans in mourning the legislator, describing him as a visionary leader who dedicated his life to service and empowerment.

“I have learnt with deep sorrow of the passing on of Isiolo South MP, Hon Mohamed Tubi. On behalf of the government and the people of Kenya, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the people of Isiolo South.
