MWAURA DEFENDS GOVERNMENT AMID CLAIMS OF 'INCOMPETENCY'

Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has justified the government , following recent remarks that tended to challenge the competence levels of President Ruto and his CSs. Mwaura mentioned on the Haiti deployment, banditry and the recent sacking of Justin Muturi.

Speaking at the Ewaso Ngiro Tannery and Leather Factory, in Narok County on Thursday, Mwaura defended the government move in the Haiti deployment mission, promising that families of police officers who have died on duty would receive state compensation;

“Ni vizuri kusema katika operesheni yoyote kutakuwa na maafa. Yale maafa yametendeka sio kama yalivyotarajiwa. Tunadhibiti sio polisi wetu wengi ambao wameaga na wale wameaga tunasema pole kwa sababu si jambo tunafurahi hata kidogo."

“Wale ambao wameathiriwa….zile familia, tunazishugulikia na wanahudumiwa ipasavyo na watagharamiwa ipasavyo," he continued.

Moreover, the Spokesperson reaffirmed the Government's commitment to tackling banditry and restoring peace in the North Rift, a region wrecked by constant banditry.

Mwaura also urged local politicians to foster a culture of peace and work with the government to facilitate state-driven projects .

He took that opportunity to defend CS Murkomen, who was termed by Senator Cherargei as causing deaths due to his 'incompetence' in the security docket.
This were his words; “Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen was in the North Rift yesterday and we want to urge political leaders to join hands with the government so that we can find a lasting solution."

Mwaura went on touching on the issue of Justin Muturi, who was fired hours after the President called him 'fairly incompetent ' in his tenure as attorney general. He further cautioned that civil servants must respect the President and desist from openly criticizing the Executive they serve in, a remark which seemed to be directed at Muturi as an example.
