OMANGA' S CRYPTIC POST SPARK REACTIONS AMONG NETIZENS

Former nominated senator Millicent Omanga has sparked mixed reactions among netizens, following her short and cryptic post on X — " I cry my country, " without any more clarification.

The post went viral, drawing the attention of Kenyans. Many were confused of the context and purpose of the message, could this be directed to President Ruto , subtly faulting his highly criticized administration or a cry to address the grievances of Kenyans.

A cross section sympathised with her, speculating possible frustration or disappointment from her political discourse while some accused her of being hypocritical and sarcastic, following her appointment by the state.

Earlier this year President William Ruto appointed Omanga to serve a 3- year term in the Board of Directors at Kenya Shipyards Limited, a state-owned corporation.

Kenyan netizens responded, some harshly reprimanding her while others asking her to be bold and join the opposition in fighting for the demands of Kenyans;

“Why do you cry for a country that you have benefited greatly from through state tenders and political favours? This kind of hypocrisy must be called out,” one user jabbed in response to the post.

Others went on urging the former senator to step up and join the opposition rather than being lukewarm;
“Opposition should show up. Stop crying on the sidelines,” one post read. Another urged her to decide: “You're either with the bread-sharing elite or with the people. Time to choose.”

This message comes in an epoch of strange revelations and damning accusations between the government and the critics, could this emotional post from Omanga be a green light for more?
