PRESIDENT RUTO ATTACKED IN MIGORI

President William Ruto has been attacked while addressing residents in Kehancha , Migori County, after a person allegedly throw a shoe aiming at his head.

President was in a three day development tour in Migori, which commenced on Sunday, 4, May.
He was speaking of his plan to cut on the cost of farming inputs for the farmers in Kehancha , before he was interrupted.

“Tupunguze gharama ya…” Ruto said before the shoe was hurled past him.

His security details immediately rushed to salvage him and the meeting was disrupted for a few minutes.

However, Ruto carried on with his speech, emphasising national unity and economic progress as pivots of his government.

The incident went viral leading to a surge of emotions from netizens, some condemning the act, terming it as disrespectful, while others, sarcastically mocked the president over the issue, expressing their frustration with his administration.

MPs also condemned the act terming it as a threat to Ruto's life.
Police were able to apprehend three suspects. Moreover, they alleged that it was politically instigated.
