Ruto Denounces "Kasongo" Label

President William Ruto has reacted firmly to the viral nickname "Kasongo," which has been circulating on social media, warning Kenyans to stop using the term.
He expressed his dissatisfaction with the nickname, which has been doing rounds and eliciting mixed reactions on social media. He called on critics to show respect for him, adding that use of such labels was demeaning his reputation as the elected leader of the people.

Ruto, who addressed his critics directly, mentioned that if he were as incapable as those people say he is, the country would have far worse issues to deal with. He further used the case of development in this country, like lessening hunger and enhancing food security, to prove his leadership and smart governance. Ruto challenged those ridiculing him to equate how far Kenya has moved under his stewardship and citizens are now capable of affording essential goods.

By this, the President is appealing to his critics to instead appreciate his regime's milestones, not the derogatory nicknames. With the political temperature in Kenya beginning to rise, Ruto shows in this call for respect that he is ready to defend himself and his milestones achieved in government.
