Roots Kenya Party Leader George Wajackoyah has urged President William Ruto to tame his henchmen, who over exercise power due to their proximity with the head of state. Speaking at the burial of Raila Odinga's bodyguard in Siaya on , April 12, Wajackoyah specifically pointed out Ruto's long time aide, Farouk Kibet.

The Roots Party boss asked Ruto to master such individuals, since no one should possess such sovereignty except the citizens.

"You're the president and have the sword of power...We don't want to burn this country, Mr President. I want you to go and tame Farouk Kibet and the group. Tell them to sit down because this country is bigger than them," Wajackoyah said.

He further blamed the national government of stagnating devolution by delaying the disbursement of funds to the counties, warning of a forthcoming shutdown in the devolved units if the owed finances are not appropriated on time.

"Governors are suffering, and they do not have money, and they are borrowing to pay their employees. They can't pay contractors; please release the monies for devolution," he added.
