ANDRE ONANA SECURES SEASON LONG LOAN MOVE TO TRABZONSPOR FROM MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United’s Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana has sealed a season-long loan move to Turkish side Trabzonspor. Onana’s place at Old Trafford had been under scrutiny following United’s £18.2m (€21m) capture of Antwerp shot-stopper Senne Lammens, a deal that could rise further with add-ons.

The 29-year-old joined United from Inter Milan in 2023 for an initial €51m plus €4m in potential bonuses and ended his debut campaign by lifting the FA Cup. However, a mix of inconsistent displays, disagreements with manager Ruben Amorim, and a hamstring injury that kept him out of pre-season raised questions over his future. His error in United’s shock League Cup defeat at Grimsby only added to the concerns.

Lammens’ arrival ultimately confirmed Onana’s exit. “Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has joined Trabzonspor on loan for the 2025/26 season, subject to international clearance and registration,” United said in a statement. “The transfer was completed before the Turkish window shut on Friday. We wish Andre the best of luck.”

United return to action after the international break with a derby clash away to Manchester City on Sunday.
