Manchester City will play host to Chelsea tonight in a premier league clash of the weekend, with both teams anticipating a win in order to stay in the top four.
City are currently ranked 7th in the table, two places behind Chelsea who have so far had a good run in the Premier League. Chelsea come into the clash feeling highly motivated, after securing a 3-1 win over Wolves earlier this week. On other hand, City gave away a two goal lead to suffer a 4-2 loss to PSG at Parc de Princes in the Uefa league competition.
The two teams will lock horns for the first time since the opening day of the season in August last year when the Citizens secured a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
H2H
Chelsea have failed to win any of their last 10 meetings with the Citizens across all competitions, losing 8 times and drawing twice, since beating Guardiola's side 1-0 in the 2021 Champions League final, three weeks after they claimed their last Premier League win over Man City (2-1) at the Etihad.
They head to the Etihad without a win in their last three games there, while they have kept just one clean sheet in their last 16 PL away matches against Man City and have failed to score on seven occasions during this run.
Manchester City possible starting lineup:
Ortega; Lewis, Stones, Akanji, Gvardiol; Kovacic, Bernardo; Foden, De Bruyne, Savinho; Haaland
Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Sanchez; Gusto, Tosin, Colwill, Cucurella; Dewsbury-Hall, Caicedo; Neto, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson
