DIAMOND AND ZUCHU INTRODUCE BABY SANDRAH

Tanzanian music stars Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu have finally given fans their first public look at their daughter, Sandrah Naseeb, during a lavish 40-day celebration in Dar es Salaam.

The couple held the celebration on Saturday, September 12, at Saint Laurent Garden in Kawe, bringing together relatives, friends, Wasafi celebrities and members of Diamond’s blended family for the milestone occasion.

The event marked the end of weeks of curiosity surrounding the newborn, whose face had largely been kept away from the public since her birth.

Diamond had earlier unveiled the little girl through a Barbie-themed photoshoot shared online, introducing her as Sandrah Junior, or “SJ.” He also tagged an Instagram account created in her name, giving fans another glimpse into the family’s newest addition.

The occasion was organised around the Muslim and Swahili tradition of Arobaini, a 40-day celebration held after the birth of a child. The milestone is traditionally associated with prayers, blessings and introducing the newborn to relatives and the wider community.

The gathering also brought together several members of Diamond’s family.
His children with Zari Hassan, Princess Tiffah and Prince Nillan, travelled from South Africa for the celebration. Tiffah took centre stage at one point when she delivered a warm message welcoming her younger sister.

She spoke about her excitement at having a baby sister and expressed her desire to spend time with and play with Sandrah.

Diamond’s former partner Tanasha Donna was also present with their son, Naseeb Junior. The children appeared together in traditional outfits, adding to the family-focused atmosphere of the occasion.

Although Zari was not reported to have attended personally, the presence of her children meant that the family connection was still strongly represented.

Diamond’s mother, Mama Dangote, also played a prominent role in the celebrations. She had earlier hosted a henna ceremony for Zuchu at her Madale home as part of the activities leading up to the main event.

Zuchu’s mother, veteran Taarab singer Khadijah Kopa, was equally involved in the celebrations.

Diamond used the occasion to speak about his relationship with Zuchu and the circumstances surrounding their daughter’s birth.

He described Sandrah as a child who was deliberately planned within their marriage, stressing that she was born in what he described as a holy union and surrounded by blessings.

Diamond had announced strict requirements for guests ahead of the event, directing them to follow an all-black Arabic-inspired dress code. He warned that anyone who failed to meet the requirement could be denied entry, even if they had an invitation.
