Michael Loikenu Lenasalon has officially taken over as the Principal Secretary for the State Department for Devolution, replacing Teresia Mbaika.
The handover ceremony was held in Nairobi, bringing together key players in the devolution sector. Among those present was Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee (IGRTC) Director of Programs, Victor Odanga.
Speaking during the ceremony, IGRTC assured PS Lenasalon of their support, expressing readiness to work closely with the department to improve coordination between national and county governments.
Lenasalon’s appointment follows a government reshuffle announced by President William Ruto on March 20, which saw the nomination of 14 new Principal Secretaries and the reassignment of six others.
Teresia Mbaika has since been moved to the State Department for Aviation and Aerospace Development under the Ministry of Roads and Transport.
PS Lenasalon now takes charge of steering the department’s role in strengthening devolution and promoting effective service delivery across counties.
