Renowned Gospel Singer Betty Bayo Dies While Receiving Treatment in Nairobi

The gospel music community in Kenya is heartbroken after the passing of Beatrice Mbugua, better known as Betty Bayo. She succumbed to leukaemia on Monday while receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

Betty Bayo, a beloved gospel artist, had been battling health issues in recent months. In August 2025, she took to social media to share her struggles.

She posted a picture of herself wearing an oxygen mask and explained that her health had been affected by the cold weather in Kenya, which had caused problems with her breathing.

According to the family representative, the "11th Hour" hitmaker was admitted at KNH on Friday after being transferred from AAR hospital along Kiambu road.
