An autopsy has revealed chilling details of the brutal killing of Nairobi lawyer Kyalo Mbobu, who was gunned down earlier this week.
Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor confirmed that Mbobu sustained eight gunshot wounds, with at least two bullets recovered from his body for ballistic analysis. One was lodged in his left upper arm.
The examination showed that the lawyer suffered massive bleeding, particularly from neck vessels, and also sustained a spinal injury, which together proved fatal. Despite the multiple shots, the chest cavity remained intact.
Dr. Oduor further noted the presence of gunpowder burns on Mbobu’s chin, indicating that some of the shots were fired at close range. The wounds included both grazing injuries and deep entry-exit bullet paths.
“The pattern of the injuries suggests the shooting was deliberate and aimed at vital areas,” the pathologist said.
Mbobu’s killing has sparked outrage within the legal fraternity, with calls mounting for a speedy investigation into the assassination that has shaken the city’s legal community.
