The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority's latest review has noted a rise in price of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene.
In an announcement earlier today, EPRA has said that the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene increased by Ksh0.29 per litre, Ksh2.00 per litre and Ksh3.00 per litre respectively. Consequently, the prices of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will now rise to Ksh176.58, Ksh167.06 and Ksh151.39 respectively.
EPRA has further noted that the prices are inclusive of the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2025, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024, and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2000.
The regulator has also affiliated the increase in petroleum prices with several factors, among them being the increase in the landed cost. Kenyans are now expected to gear up, as new prices take effect Tommorow January 15th, 2025 to run until February 14th, 2025.
