After seven years apart, the girl group Fifth Harmony stunned fans with a surprise reunion performance on Sunday evening during the Jonas Brothers’ concert in Texas. A video shared on the group’s official social media accounts featured the caption, “Where were you on August 31, 2025?”a phrase that now appears across a new line of merchandise available on their relaunched website, which also showcases an updated band logo.
The reunion includes four of the original members: Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui. Camila Cabello, who left the group in 2016 to pursue a solo career, was not part of the reunion. Fifth Harmony first formed in 2012 on the reality competition show The X Factor. The group skyrocketed to fame with three studio albums and a string of hit singles, including five that went platinum. Their biggest success, “Work from Home,” peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Camila Cabello officially parted ways with the group in December 2016 to focus on her solo career. Her most recent album, C, XOXO—released in 2024 under Geffen and Interscope—marked a new chapter after leaving Epic Records, which had originally signed Fifth Harmony in partnership with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music. The album debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200. Following Camila’s departure, the remaining members announced an indefinite hiatus in March 2018 to pursue solo endeavours. They wrapped up their time together with a final tour and a farewell music video.
By early 2019, all members had released solo music, showcasing their individual artistry. Despite the break, Fifth Harmony remains recognized as one of the best-selling girl groups of their generation, celebrated for their vocal strength and empowering themes of confidence, self-love, and unity.
