FORMER SPORTS CS ABABU NAMWAMBA’S MOTHER DIES

Former Sports Cabinet Secretary and Kenya’s Permanent Representative to UNEP and the UN Office at Nairobi, Ababu Namwamba, is mourning the death of his mother, Mama Agatha Maina Namwamba.
Mama Agatha passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at around 12:30 p.m., the family confirmed.
In a heartfelt message shared on his official social media pages early Friday, Namwamba described his mother as the family’s matriarch, a pillar of strength, and the glue that held them together.
During this mourning period, the Namwamba family has appointed Prof. Thomas Nanyingi Namwamba as the official spokesperson. They have urged the public to accord them privacy, calm, and prayers as they grieve and plan her final rites.
