FORMER TETU MP DIES

Acting on the Monday, September 29 reports, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula mourned the former MP as one to be remembered for his good service and leadership.
"Deep in grief, I have learned of the demise of former Tetu MP, Hon. Francis Thombe Nyammo," the statement partly read.

"He will be remembered for his brilliant service, leadership, and commitment to the cause of community well-being. My deep condolences to his family, friends, and citizens of Tetu. May his soul rest in peace."
Reports indicate Nyammo passed away Sunday morning on his 86th birthday.

A Nairobi clubs rotary fan, Nyammo was fondly known as "FT", short for "Fun Times", whose initials read the same.
In the announcement of the death on Sunday, the President of one such Rotary clubs in Nairobi hailed the late MP as family, who had given the institution more than happiness.

"PP FT Nyammo was more than a Rotarian to us— he was a pillar of strength, a joy-bringer and a true gentleman whose smile and wisdom lit up every place," she stated.

"For many years, he traveled with us consistently, shaping the club with his kindness, spirit of service and unbreakable brotherhood. Truly, he blessed us with his presence."

His death cause has not yet been announced at the time of publication of this article.
Thombe served as a Tetu Constituency MP from 2008 to 2013 after he was elected in the 2007 general elections on the Party of National Unity (PNU) platform.

Previously, he also served as a leader within the private sector, as a chair of Longhorn Publishers, among other positions, and was a co-founder of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA).
