The government, in collaboration with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and the Local Organizing Committee, has increased the number of official fan zones to boost access for supporters during the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
In Nairobi County, the zones have been expanded from ten to thirteen. Newly designated sites include Ruiru, Dagoretti’s Camp Toyoyo, and Baba Dogo.
Mombasa County will host six additional fan zones. They are located at Changamwe Volleyball Grounds, St. Mary’s Bangladesh Grounds in Jomvu, Mama Ngina Waterfront, Shelly Beach in Likoni, Hassan Joho Stadium in Nyali, and Bilima Grounds in Kisauni.
The move is expected to ease congestion in stadiums while giving more fans a chance to enjoy the tournament in safe, controlled environments.
