Recent reports has revealed that Charles Nyachae and Anne Amadi , have been shortlisted as the most preferable candidates to inherit the late Wafula Chebukati , as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson .
Nyachae served as a judge in the East African Court, while Amadi was a Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, before expressing their bid.
This report was disclosed on Monday , April, 21 by former NTV journalist Kennedy Murithi Bundi, his official Facebook account .
These two were selected among eleven members who also desired this very role.
The duo were also interviewed by the IEBC Selection Panel , led by Nelson Makanda, between Thursday, March 27, 2025 and Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Anne Amadi was faced with allegations of her involvement in the 89 million gold scandal but was able to clear her name. She also defended her bid by proposing a move that would cut on elections costs by reducing the number of polling stations.
Similarly, Nyachae dismissed claims that he is a State candidate and a petition by Bunge la Wananchi, which accused him of corruption , conflict of interest and political patronage. He also enhanced that, his passion for defending the Kenyan constitution is the force behind his bid.
