Kalonzo Backs Up Muturi's Call

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called for the establishment of an independent inquiry into the rising cases of abductions and extrajudicial killings, emphasizing that only a fair, just, and impartial investigation can bring closure to the matter.
Speaking outside City Mortuary today, Kalonzo called on the government to set up an open and transparent commission, which will be tasked with investigating the growing menace of abductions.
“This country needs to set up a commission of inquiry into these illegal, illegitimate, and unfortunate abductions, which have caught the attention of the entire world,” he stated.
Kalonzo further proposed that the commission should be broad-based, including state and non-state actors, such as the opposition, clergy, and civil society. Additionally, he warned that if the state fails to establish the tribunal, the opposition would launch its inquiry into the wave of abductions.
Kalonzo's call comes days after National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula and Public Service CS Justin Muturi called on the police to get to the root of abductions and produce those responsible.
