Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has broken her silence on the death of Albert Ojwang, questioning the circumstances that led to his mysterious demise while in police custody at Central Police Station.
“Who arrested Albert Ojwang, and why exactly was he held alone in a cell? Do we have surveillance footage? Can Kenyans see it?” she posed.
Nyamu further hinted at the possibility of political sabotage, saying, “We’ve seen self-abductions and staged incidents before planned purely to incite the public and paint the government in bad light. It is not lost on us what a desperate opposition can orchestrate in the name of resistance."
This claim has sparked backlash, particularly as police had already confirmed Ojwang’s arrest in connection to an alleged offensive social media post. Nyamu, a key figure in the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), appears to be defending the government while undermining credible concerns about police abuse.
