Karua on Ruto's Exit

People Liberation Party leader Martha Karua has called on Kenyans to explore alternative ways of protesting against the current government saying that demonstrations do not have to involve taking to the streets.

"You don’t have to go to the streets; you can protest by simply not going to work. As Kenyans, we can think together it’s just a matter of when," she stated.

Karua, a vocal critic of President William Ruto’s administration insisted that the government has lost public trust due to poor governance and economic mismanagement.

According to her, the rising cost of living and increased taxation have made life unbearable for many Kenyans and the growing dissatisfaction among citizens signals that change is inevitable.

She therefore noted that peaceful protests including economic boycotts and coordinated work stoppages have been successful in other countries and could be an effective strategy in Kenya.

These remarks come at a time of heightened political tension in the country, with opposition leaders accusing the Kenya Kwanza government of failing to fulfill campaign promises.
