President William Ruto has inked 12 deals with the Egyptian government to elevate the bilateral relations between the two countries.
The 12 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) will enable both administrations to partner in various sectors such as trade, investment, education, scientific research, and technological exchanges to unlock new opportunities.
Other areas include diplomatic training in capacity building, political consultations, youth empowerment, telecommunication, space cooperation, governance, housing, construction and urban development.
President Ruto who is in Egypt for a two-day state visit to hold consultations on regional development, appealed to Egypt to support Kenya's candidate for the African Union Chairmanship role, Raila Odinga.
The visit comes at a time when East African nations are deliberating on an escalating crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) after the M23 rebels took over Goma City.
