KENYAN PRINCE'S MERCEDES SEIZED OVER UNREGISTRATION BREACH

Traffic police in Nairobi have impounded a sleek Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 said to belong to popular Forex trader and Content Creator Raymond Omosa, famously known online as “Kenya’s Youngest Sponsor” or the “Kenyan Prince.”

The luxury SUV was intercepted along Lusaka Road after officers flagged it down for lacking registration and insurance details. At the time, the car was reportedly being driven by a mechanic, Erick Araka, who has since been charged at the Milimani Law Courts.

According to court documents, Araka faces four counts under the Traffic Act and the Insurance (Motor Vehicle Third Party Risks) Act.

The first count accuses him of driving an unregistered motor vehicle, contrary to Section 6(1) as read with Section 14 of the Traffic Act, Cap 403.
Prosecutors allege that on November 5, 2025, at around 9:49 a.m., Araka was found driving the unregistered Mercedes-Benz on Lusaka Road in Nairobi County.

The second and third counts relate to driving an uninsured vehicle and failing to display a valid insurance certificate, both in violation of Sections 4(1), 4(2), and 9(1) of the Insurance Act.
Court filings indicate that no valid insurance cover was produced for the car at the time of arrest.

The fourth count charges Araka with driving without a valid driving licence, contrary to Section 30(1) of the Traffic Act.

In his defense, Araka told journalists outside court that he had taken the vehicle for a test drive after fixing its brake pads, claiming the car was still under mechanical service when it was seized by police.

Moments later, Omosa, the social media influencer and car owner, was seen at the Milimani Law Courts reportedly seeking to free his machine and mechanic.

The Kenyan Prince rose to the limelight through his lavish lifestyle and unapologetic online jabs. Netizens have continued to express mixed reactions toward the 24-year-old Forex trader — with some praising his innovation and financial grit, while others criticize him for arrogance. The latest development is expected to spark yet another wave of public reactions among his followers and online observers.
