KENYANS IN IRAN AND ISRAEL URGED TO REGISTER FOR EVACUATION.

The State Department for Diaspora Affairs has announced the immediate evacuation of Kenyan citizens currently living in Israel and Iran, following the rapid escalation of conflict between the two nations. In a statement released on Saturday, June 21, the department urged Kenyans in both countries to register for evacuation. This comes just days after a safety advisory was issued amid growing security concerns.

Kenyans are required to complete a registration form, accessible via a link provided by the department, where they will submit personal details including full name, phone number, preferred contact method, passport and ID numbers, current address, location, medical history, next of kin, and any additional relevant information. Alternatively, registration can be completed by scanning a QR code shared on the department’s official social media platforms. This follows an earlier announcement by Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu, who confirmed on Thursday that the government is actively working on evacuation plans for Kenyans in both Iran and Israel. She also emphasized that only those who have registered in Tel Aviv and Tehran will be considered for evacuation.

On Wednesday, the PS issued a separate advisory urging Kenyans in the affected areas to exercise maximum caution, limit unnecessary movement, and stay out of high risks zones. She also encouraged Kenyan nationals to monitor local news, follow guidelines from local authorities, and reach out to Kenya’s diplomatic missions in case of any emergencies. Israel-Iran war has entered the second week despite diplomatic efforts. The Kenyan government noted that it is actively monitoring the volatile situation and remains fully committed to ensuring the welfare of all Kenyans.
