KINDIKI'S LITMUS TEST

Amidst rising political temperatures , former premier , Raila Odinga proves to be very relevant in shaping the 2027 presidential polls. What is dubbed as the 'Raila Factor ' seems to be gaining traction over the ruling Kenya Kwanza politics, his previous alliances with the respective ruling parties has always seen alleged sidelining of the party's deputy president. This history seemingly appears to repeat itself against the incumbent DP, Kithure Kindiki.

A section of K.K allied leaders have publicly endorsed Raila to be President William Ruto's running mate come 2027. Elder Maravin law maker , Musa Sirma, has stirred the political waters opining that a Ruto - Raila ticket would be the remedy for national unity and harmonize the Nyanza region behind Ruto.

"Rift Valley supported Raila Odinga in 2007. If President Ruto picks him as his deputy this time, we will support him and so will the people of Nyanza,” Sirma stated to a crowd which was growing jubilant over the matter.

He furthered hinted at Ruto mobilizing the Rift valley and Raila the Nyanza region, to form an undisputed pact.
"What we are saying right now, if the people in Nyanza and Rift Valley join forces, the country will shake. This is because in 2007, we won, but our votes were stolen. Today, we are in the government, and we can't be defeated if we have Baba on our side," he added.

The CS for Energy, Opiyo Wandayi, who had graced the commissioning of the Capiamit last-mile electrification project in MP Sirma's Elder Maravin, Bomet County on 2 June, also seconded Sirma's opinions stating that the opposition cannot make Raila president, considering them being already in the trenches of opposition, without government.

"We have already told Baba, if they are outside the government, how can they make him president? There is nothing like that," Wandayi said.

This remarks probate a deliberate orchestration to replace DP Kindiki with Raila come 2027, an equation which will work in viewing Raila as the king maker, however questions still exist on Kindiki's fate and his capacity to make Ruto king over the Raila Factor .

The situation portrays two influencial individuals , Kindiki and Raila each proving their capacity to mobilize their regions behind President Ruto.
Will Kindiki be able to make Ruto king or will he be replaced by Raila?, this is Kindiki's main test.
