Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested four suspects accused of robbing an elderly Korean couple at Elmarba in Kajiado County on February 10, 2025.
According to the DCI, a gang of six men invaded the home of the elderly couple at around 3:00 am by breaking into Elmarba Full Gospel Missionary Church grounds which hosted the couples' residence.
They tied the couple with manila ropes before ransacking the entire house and taking four Samsung phones, two laptops, a golden necklace, a bracelet and wristwatch, and a solar charger.
The couple was also forced to reveal their mobile money pins where Ksh.260,000 was transferred into the suspects' accounts.
To cover their tracks, the gang dismantled the CCTV cameras and disappeared with the hard drive.
Detectives from Oloililai rushed to the scene after receiving distress calls from neighbours who raised alarm over the incident.
A forensic analysis of the crime scene led to details of the four suspects whose main operations were in Mlolongo and Mukuru Kwa Ruben.
Following a sting operation, the police managed to arrest Daniel Momanyi Ombati and Mutua Mang'eli Masesi (ex-convicts from Kitengela Prison), and Nicodemus Kioko Mwangangi and Silas Obwogi.
Further, the detectives recovered two TV sets, two projectors, three mobile phones, two crowbars, a hacksaw, steel cutter among other crude weapons.
The suspects were taken into custody after the Korean couple positively identified them. Police are appealing to the public to assist with information to trace the whereabouts of the remaining gang members.
