MCA PHILIP EKUWAM LOMURIA DIES

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has confirmed the death of Hon. Philip Ekuwam Lomuria, the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Nanam Ward in Turkana County. His passing was announced in an official statement shared on UDA’s X (formerly Twitter) platform.

Lomuria served not only as the MCA for Nanam Ward but also held the position of Deputy Speaker in the Turkana County Assembly. He was recognized for his dedication and active participation in legislative affairs within the county.

In the statement, UDA described Lomuria as a staunch and committed party member who performed his duties with zeal. The party expressed deep sorrow at the news and praised his contributions to the party and the people of Turkana.

“As the family, the County Assembly and indeed the residents of Turkana County mourn the loss of their loved one and leader, the UDA Party sends its sincere condolences and stands in solidarity with them at this time of grief,” the statement read.

The party extended heartfelt condolences to Lomuria’s family, colleagues, and constituents in Nanam Ward. The cause of death was not disclosed in the announcement.

Lomuria's death is a significant loss to Turkana County and the wider political community.

Turkana County Speaker Charles Lokiyoto confirmed that Ekuwam passed away on Wednesday, June 11, while receiving treatment.
