The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has officially opened applications for its September–November 2025 intake under the Media Industrial Attachment Programme, offering paid internship opportunities to final-year students pursuing journalism and communication courses.
The three-month program, running from September to November 2025, aims to equip aspiring media professionals with practical newsroom experience and industry exposure to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world practice.
“The attachment lasts for a period of three months, from September to November 2025,” MCK stated.
Who Can Apply
To qualify, applicants must be final-year students enrolled in a degree or diploma program in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, or Digital and Corporate Communication from a recognized institution.
Other requirements include:
• An official recommendation letter from the applicant’s university or college indicating the attachment period.
• Valid registration for the industrial attachment unit.
• Academic transcripts for the current academic year.
• A valid student ID.
• A 2025 MCK Student Press Card.
• Samples of previous journalistic work (if available).
MCK emphasizes that it does not charge any application fees and does not recruit through agents or agencies.
Where Will Attachés Be Placed?
Successful candidates will be placed in recognized media outlets across the country, gaining hands-on experience in:
• Print journalism
• Radio and TV broadcasting
• Technical production
• Digital content creation
