MLOLONGO FAMILIES YET TO FIND KIN ABDUCTED IN 2024,SEEK PRESIDENT RUTO'S INTERVENTIONS

Families in Mlolongo, Machakos County, are pleading for President William Ruto's intervention following the mysterious disappearance of their loved ones who were allegedly abducted in 2024.
Despite multiple reports filed with the police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), no substantial leads have been provided over the past several months. The families say they have received little to no communication from authorities, prompting fears of enforced disappearances.
“We’ve been living in anguish for over a year. No one has told us where our brothers are, whether they’re alive or dead,” said Esther Wanjiku, whose son was reportedly taken by unknown individuals in February 2024.
Civil society groups have also raised alarm over a spike in unresolved disappearances in theregion, with many accusing state agencies of remaining silent or complicit.
The families are now calling on President Ruto to personally intervene and ensure independent investigations are carried out. “We are citizens of this country. We deserve answers,” one relative tearfully told the press.
Human rights activists have urged the government to uphold the rule of law and restore public trust by bringing those responsible to justice and reuniting missing persons with their families.
The Ministry of Interior and National Administration is yet to issue a formal statement on the matter.
