MUSALIA MUDAVADI ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE OF NORWAY’S AMBASSADOR TO KENYA

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has announced the departure of Norway’s Ambassador to Kenya, Gunnar Andreas Holm. In a statement released on Friday, July 11, Mudavadi extended his best wishes to Ambassador Holm, expressing hopes for his continued success, good health, and fulfillment in his future endeavors. He affirmed Kenya’s commitment to warmly welcome Holm’s successor, as both nations strive to further deepen their longstanding partnership.

Reflecting on the cooperation between Kenya and Norway, he expressed profound gratitude to the Norwegian government and its embassy for their significant contributions to Kenya’s national and regional development. Mudavadi noted that over the years, Kenya and Norway have achieved meaningful progress in various sectors, including peace and security, multilateral collaboration, the blue economy, and sustainable fisheries. Additional areas of cooperation include climate action, environmental conservation, gender equality, human rights, and humanitarian support.

He further highlighted the Norwegian Embassy’s broad influence beyond Kenya, particularly in enhancing the peace and prosperity across the Horn of Africa. Ambassador Holm has served as Norway’s envoy to Kenya, Somalia, and Seychelles, as well as Permanent Representative at UNEP and UN-Habitat, since September 2021. He also served as Ambassador to Ghana from 2017 to 2121, and to South Sudan from 2016 to 2017.
