NADIA FIRES BACK AT TROLLS OVER ARROW BWOY'S RING DEFEAT

Musician Nadia Mukami has hit back at critics who accused her of being desperate after she publicly supported her former partner, Arrow Bwoy, following his defeat at the Vurugu 2 celebrity boxing event.

The singer found herself at the centre of an online debate after attending the highly anticipated boxing showdown at Nairobi's Sarit Expo Centre on Saturday, June 20, where Arrow Bwoy faced off against Ugandan businessman Shakib Cham.

The bout, which had generated weeks of excitement across Kenya and Uganda, ended in a second-round technical knockout after Arrow Bwoy's corner threw in the towel following sustained punishment from Shakib.

The fight was one of the headline attractions at the Vurugu 2 event organised by comedian and media personality Oga Obinna. Interest in the clash had been fuelled by intense pre-fight exchanges between the two camps, including a dramatic weigh-in where Arrow Bwoy threw an egg at Shakib.

Despite the loss, Nadia was among those who rallied behind the singer, praising him for stepping into the ring and taking on a challenge outside his comfort zone.
"To Baba Watoto, for a first fight, you tried a lot!!! Your first time in the arena and you did it!!! You brought showbiz and skills as that was the most anticipated match of Vurugu 2 because of you!" she wrote.

She further encouraged him to ignore critics and remain focused on improving.
"People are talking about Arrow Bwoy! That's enough! Ignore the hate and the memes; some can't even survive half a round. Now up you go! Keep training. Big stages ahead."

Her message quickly sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users questioning whether the former couple had truly separated. Others claimed Nadia was trying too hard to maintain ties with her ex-partner.

However, the award-winning singer swiftly addressed the criticism, insisting her actions were driven by a desire to maintain a healthy co-parenting relationship rather than rekindle a romance.
"To the people saying Nadia is desperate, NO! I just decided to embrace healthy co-parenting. I am too bubbly to carry hate in my heart. I am too tiny to carry the burden of hate in my heart; that's too heavy for me," she said through her Instagram Stories.

Nadia added that choosing peace benefits both her children and her personal well-being.
"I want to be free from shackles of being a bitter baby mama no matter what happens. Peace is expensive, but worth it. That's why I am very, very blessed. The secret to surviving years in the game is that I don't carry baggage in my heart. I release it because it helps my mental health."

She also thanked Oga Obinna for creating a platform that continues to support the entertainment industry through events such as Vurugu.

Meanwhile, Arrow Bwoy has also broken his silence after the defeat, saying he has no regrets about stepping into the boxing ring despite having trained for only a short period and battling health challenges before the fight.

According to the singer, the experience taught him valuable lessons about courage, discipline and mental strength.
"A loss is not the end of the story. It's part of the journey. I'm proud that I stepped out of my comfort zone, tested myself, and gave it everything I had," he said.

Shakib's victory marked a significant comeback after suffering a knockout loss in a celebrity boxing contest last year. The Ugandan businessman celebrated the win as fans from both countries flooded social media with reactions following one of East Africa's most talked-about celebrity sporting events.

While the fight may have ended in defeat for Arrow Bwoy, the support he received from Nadia and Musician KRG the Don has opened a different conversation altogether — one centred on maturity, and unity among one of Kenya's influential artists .
