The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has directed its members to verify their party details ahead of the upcoming by-elections announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
In a notice released on Tuesday, ODM listed constituencies and wards where the verification exercise is required. The affected constituencies include Baringo, Banissa, Kasipul, Magarini, Malava, Mbeere North, and Ugunja.
The wards named are Angata Nanyokie, Chemundu/Kapng’etuny, Chewani, Fafi, Kariobangi North, Kisa East, Metkei, Mumbuni North, Kabuchai/Chwele, Narok Town, Purko, Tembelio, Nyansiongo, Nyamaiya, Ekerenyo, Lake Zone, and Nanaam.
ODM said the process is ongoing and urged members in those areas to confirm their status in order to participate in the by-elections.
To check their details, members can dial *483*036# or use the party’s official membership website.
The party clarified that its registration portal has been temporarily disabled and will reopen only after the by-elections. No new registrations or transfers of membership centres will be accepted during this period.
ODM maintained that the directive is meant to streamline its processes and ensure transparency in the management of party membership.
The by-elections will be held on November 27, according to the IEBC. Political parties are expected to complete their primaries before then.
