Police in Baringo County apprehended a man who was in possession of cannabis worth around Ksh.2 million while conducting a security operation at Timboroa on October 13, 2025.
The statement by the National Police Service (NPS) indicates that officers from Timboroa Police Station stopped a grey metallic Toyota Noah, along the Nakuru–Eldoret Highway based on credible information that the car was being used for the transportation of narcotics.
"The vehicle was suspected to have cannabis in transit," NPS said.
Upon thoroughly searching the vehicle, police discovered four bags of 759 bundles of cannabis brooms, which were confiscated as evidence straight away.
The suspect was apprehended on the spot, and the vehicle was seized and taken to the station for further examination.
The NPS confirmed that the suspect remains in police custody and will be processed and arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
In the statement, the Police Service commended the officers who conducted the operation for their swift and unified response, noting the arrest underscores continued national efforts to curb drug trafficking and sales of illegal drugs.
"The National Police Service congratulates the officers on their vigilance and reaffirms its commitment to clearing the country of drugs and illicit alcohol," the statement went on.
