PRESIDENT RUTO REFERS THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST BILL 2025 FOR PARLIAMENT RECONSIDERATION

President William Ruto on Thursday,17, April , 2025, morning referred the Conflict of Interest Bill 2025 back to Parliament in an effort to seek it's reconsideration from the house.

The president has been urging that the bill will be vital in tackling corruption and ensuring integrity with accountability in leadership, requiring the parliament to pass it without asking soon as possible.

However, acknowledging the limitations of the bill, he pledged to cast off any version of the Bill that failed to meet the prerequisite standard for integrity, and anti-corruption measures.

The President also proposed for more ramifications to strengthen its provisions on transparency and enforcement to alignment it with the constitutional virtues of good governance.

President Ruto has referred the Bill back to Parliament, with a memorandum, for reconsideration., in reference to Article 115 of the Constitution.
