PRESIDENT RUTO SHAKES NYANZA, MIGORI

President William Ruto has pulled out a massive crowd in his second day of Migori tour, contradicting the hostility he faced on his first day, after a shoe was hurled towards him in Kehancha.
Moreover, the head of state displayed confidence addressing the crowds without any visible security barriers on him.

Speaking in Migori County on Monday, May 5, 2025, Ruto wooed the region, defending the appointment of Raila's allies in his government .

“Some people are angry with me. They ask why I appointed Mbadi as Treasury Cabinet Secretary and why I appointed James Opiyo Wandayi as Energy Cabinet Secretary, yet they didn’t vote for me,” Ruto said slamming the critics of the same.

“I have told them that the government of Kenya belongs to all Kenyans — those who voted for me and those who didn’t. All Kenyans pay taxes, isn’t that so?” he highlighted his move to bring in all Kenyans regardless of their political standing.

Ruto further justified his pact with Raila terming it as unity oriented.

“You all know that Baba and I agreed to remove politics of hatred, tribalism, and division. We want to unite Kenya so that no part of the country is left behind,” he said to a cheerful crowd.

“I ask you, people of Migori, did we make a mistake by uniting this Kenya?” he asked the audience.

During this development tour, the Country's boss inspected the ongoing construction of Riosir Market, which is expected to host over 300 businesses.
He later on addressed the locals and traders in Rongo town , stating his plan to upscale sugarcane cultivation for regional and national success.

He further focused on developing electricity and roads in the region.

“We have put in the budget two billion shillings for the people of Migori to push electricity this year, and we will add more next year until we complete all roads in Migori,” he stated.

Ruto then confirmed on his plan to boost the region agriculturally and also his move in deploying more teachers, sponsored by Ksh 2 billion from the Treasury.

“I have told our CS, John Mbadi, to allocate another Ksh2 billion to ensure that this year we hire another 20,000 teachers. No child in Kenya should miss school because education is what gives every Kenyan child an equal chance in life,” he highlighted.

The head of state went more political slamming his former number , Rigathi Gachagua over him mobilising other opposition leaders in his Wamunyoro home. He went on terming the team as without a structured agenda but baseless 'Ruto Must Go ' chants.

"Before you say ‘Must Go,’ first bring ideas for the people. Shouting is not a plan," he stated putting forward his road, market and electrification projects.
