Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi departed for Changsha, China on June 8, 2025, to attend a ministerial meeting focused on implementing follow-up actions from the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
The high-level forum will run from June 8 to 13, bringing together African and Chinese leaders to evaluate progress and chart new areas of cooperation.
Mudavadi’s trip follows the recent elevation of Kenya–China relations to a strategic partnership during President William Ruto’s state visit to Beijing.
During his visit, Mudavadi is expected to deepen bilateral ties and push forward key economic and infrastructure priorities, including the extension of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and the dualing of the Nairobi–Malaba highway.
He will also represent Kenya at the China–Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the China (Chongqing)–Africa Investment Forum, where discussions will focus on boosting investment, trade, and development financing.
The visit underscores Kenya’s commitment to strengthening its engagement with China under the broader framework of Africa–China cooperation.
