Dr. Bernard William Chitunga, at 36, has etched his name in Kenya’s academic history by becoming the youngest individual ever appointed Chancellor of a public university. On April 30, 2025, he was officially installed as the second Chancellor of the Co-operative University of Kenya (CUK) during a ceremony attended by President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga .
Dr. Chitunga holds dual doctorates in Management and Sustainable Development from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) and Selinus University (Italy), respectively.
