Dr. Raymond Omollo, the Principal Secretary for Interior, has advised the leaders of the Nyanza region not to set conditions for President William Ruto.
Omollo while on a visit to Nyatike Sub-County on Sunday stated that the citizens from the Nyanza region do not require any presidential agreement to receive development from Ruto's government in the future.
"President Ruto is practicing economic justice and doing so without making any one to surrender their ground. Let us not allow any of our leaders to force a situation or lay down conditions to the President. He is already doing what he has committed to do, what he knows is the best for the country," commented the Interior PS.
Omollo believed Ruto had been a supporter of the Nyanza region's development even without any official agreement. The PS is of the opinion that Ruto has been giving signs of his willingness to the people of Nyanza. He is thus optimistic that Ruto will be the President again in the 2027 elections due to his development record.
"Kenyans will be the judge based on what you will deliver to them," he concluded.
Uriri MP Mark Nyamitta made a similar comment, urging the cessation of “unnecessary sideshows.”
Furthermore, Sam Atandi, the Alego Usonga MP, called for unity among the Luo leaders in matters of development in the region.
