President Ruto, the head of state, ordered the Ministry of Interior to make sure that each and every administration officer receives official training, in order to make the government's effective service delivery easier to achieve.
The President recognized that not only was training necessary for the officers, but also that the training programmes need to be regular and extensive to bring about the required skill development among the officers.
“If you hired an officer, chief, or assistant chief, he/she should undergo this training within six months at the most,” he stressed.
Approximately 1,837 National Government Administration Officers completed their training and another 6,000 chiefs and assistant chiefs are going to be trained shortly.
President Ruto again insisted that the personnel are the key players in the success of government activities at the lowest level in the society.
For instance, they have ushered in the realization of the administration's bold Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda by being directly involved in promoting it.
“Your role is to link the remote village with the Government and the latter with the people. You are first to respond when there is a problem, and you are the government's daily visible face to millions of Kenyans,” he said.
“Support these projects, make sure the farmers are getting their rightful services, settle any resource-based conflicts quickly, and provide fair access to both inputs and opportunities," he urged.
