President William Ruto has once ogain fired back at critics, stating that they are leaderless and without plans for the country.
Speaking at Mandera Teachers’ Training College at the start of his three-day tour to the region, the Head of State warned that they (critics) would fail in their mission, which he said is to divide Kenyans along tribal lines.
“They will fail, and they will fail miserably,” he said, adding that their leaders neither have an agenda nor a vision for the country and are now preaching divisive politics.
“Those people have no plan for this country. I want to promise you that they will not succeed in dividing our nation, and because they have no plan they want to concentrate on dividing the nation,” he said.
Ruto who was accompanied by his deputy Kithure Kindiki and several Cabinet secretaries led by Aden Duale (Environment) , also promised to ensure the North eastern region gets a fair share of the national cake just like any other part of the country. He said the days when the region was abandoned are gone and that under his administration he will endeavour to ensure it does not lag.
“Northern Kenya is as good as any other part of Kenya and that is why we must connect electricity, connect water, road network and ensure the children of northern are not treated differently from other parts of Kenya,” he said.
This week, the President will tour North Eastern counties, as part of his agenda to promote equitable economic development across the country.
