Senator’s Estranged Lover Reports Police Harassment Over Alleged Theft of Ksh.20M

Police in Ruai, Nairobi County are investigating an incident in which rogue officers raided the home of Trizar Theo Wariong, the estranged lover of Turkana Senator James Lomenen. According to a police report, the officers demanded Ksh.20 million that is alleged to belong to the senator.

The report states that on Saturday night, five officers from Njathaini police station gained entry into Wariong’s house. The first three officers went straight into her bedroom, where they seized USD 15,000 (approximately Ksh.1.9 million) and an additional Ksh.200,000 from a suite case before leaving.

Wariong further alleged that after the initial raid, she was forcibly taken from her home. She described being bundled into a waiting saloon car, which then drove off. At the Kamulu shopping centre, two officers from Kamulu Police Station exited the vehicle, and two other individuals—one male and one female—joined the car.

Believing she was being taken to a police station, Wariong said she was instead forced to reveal the location of the remaining cash. According to the report, she was later returned to her home in the early hours of the morning after enduring torture and life threats.

Officers who visited the scene confirmed that two Njathaini police officers, Kevin Ombajo and David Aduda, were involved in the operation. Authorities are now probing the incident to identify the other individuals involved.
