SPEAKER MOSES WETANG’ULA RALLIES RIFT VALLEY TO BACK RUTO’S SECOND TERM

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has urged Rift Valley residents to throw their weight behind President William Ruto’s bid for a second term in office.
Speaking during a fundraiser at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Kapsabet, Nandi County, Wetang’ula said the region did not need persuasion to support President Ruto, whom he described as their own son.
“As residents of Rift Valley, we are preaching to the converted. You do not need to be mobilised or coerced to support your son for a second term because you know the direction the country is taking,” Wetang’ula said.
He dismissed critics of the president as “self-seeking characters without an agenda,” urging Ruto to ignore them “like a cow ignores the croaking of frogs.”
The Speaker further pointed to government achievements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic recovery, saying they were enough to secure Ruto’s re-election.
Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, who also addressed the gathering, backed Wetang’ula’s remarks, saying President Ruto had already surpassed expectations within two years in office and deserved a second term.
