The Standard Group PLC has announced significant changes to its board, with three directors resigning and two new members appointed in a move aimed at strengthening governance and driving innovation.
In a notice signed by Company Secretary Millicent Ngetich, the Group confirmed the resignation of Albert Siegi, Christine Muthui, and Chris Otundo, acknowledging their contributions during their tenure.
At the same time, the board approved the appointment of Ms. Laila Denise Cherobon as a Non-Executive Director and Mr. Edward Mwasi as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Ms. Cherobon, currently the Group’s Chief Strategy Officer, brings extensive experience in corporate transformation and media innovation. She also serves on the International News Media Association (INMA) Advisory Board.
Mr. Mwasi, a media strategist and consultant, previously served as CEO of the Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board and was Chief Graphic Designer at Nation Media Group.
The company said the changes are part of its ongoing efforts to enhance strategic growth and expand its influence in Kenya’s competitive media industry.
