A seemingly well-intentioned offer to help a fast-rising Kenyan business has turned into a public war of words between content creator Director Trevor and comedian DJ Shiti.
The disagreement emerged after Trevor expressed his willingness to help HEHA Movers find a serious investor who could inject capital into the business and support its long-term growth.
HEHA Movers has recently become one of Kenya's most talked-about businesses online, attracting attention through its humorous content and unconventional approach to marketing its moving services. Its growing visibility has also drawn interest from personalities within Kenya's entertainment and digital-creator space.
However, Trevor's proposal did not go down well with DJ Shiti, who appeared to question why he wanted to get involved when comedian and content creator Nicki Bigfish was already associated with the company's management.
Shiti responded by throwing his support behind Bigfish, pointing to the latter's long experience in the entertainment industry.
"Kivipi dogoooooo????? @nicki_bigfish has been in the Entertainment game since you were in diapers, my G.... They are in safe hands," Shiti wrote.
The comment suggested that, in Shiti's view, HEHA Movers already had someone with sufficient experience to guide the company, making Trevor's intervention unnecessary.
The exchange quickly caught the attention of social media users, with some interpreting Shiti's response as a defence of his fellow entertainer while others saw it as a challenge to Trevor's intentions.
Trevor subsequently responded in a much sharper tone, accusing Shiti of commenting without properly understanding his initial message.
"My brother, DJ Shiti, focus on your dying career and, most importantly, read the message and understand it before opening your filthy mouth!" Trevor said.
The response immediately intensified the online exchange, turning what had initially been a discussion about business investment into a personal disagreement between the two entertainers.
Trevor later sought to clarify his position, maintaining that he was not seeking to take over Bigfish's role at HEHA Movers.
According to his explanation, his interest was simply in connecting the company with potential investors who could provide the financial backing needed to expand the business.
That distinction appears to be at the centre of the disagreement. While Shiti's response appeared to interpret Trevor's involvement as an attempt to interfere with the company's management, Trevor maintained that his proposal was about investment rather than taking control.
The controversy comes as HEHA Movers continues to enjoy growing visibility on social media.
The company has built its reputation partly through comedy-driven content that turns its moving services into entertaining online material. Its unusual marketing approach has helped it attract a substantial audience beyond the traditional moving-services market.
The business has also attracted attention through collaborations and commercial engagements, including an association with Bonfire Adventures CEO Simon Kabu.
As the brand grows, questions surrounding investment, management and the direction of the business are likely to attract even greater public interest.
The Trevor-Shiti exchange has since generated mixed reactions among fans and fellow entertainers.
Some users have backed Shiti for defending Bigfish, while others criticised both entertainers for allowing a business-related conversation to become personal.
For now, however, the disagreement remains largely centred on social media, with Trevor insisting his interest in HEHA Movers was about opening doors to investment, while Shiti's intervention has placed the company's existing management structure at the heart of the conversation.
