UHURU STOLE RAILA'S VICTORY AND JUST GUILTY - MIGUNA ACCUSES UHURU OF HYPOCRISY

Lawyer and former Raila Odinga's advisor Dr. Miguna Miguna has launched a scathing attack on former President Uhuru Kenyatta, terming his visit to the late Raila Odinga’s gravesite in Bondo as “an act of guilt, not genuine friendship.”

In a strongly worded post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Miguna accused the former Head of State of hypocrisy, claiming Uhuru’s gesture was a belated attempt to cleanse his conscience eight years after allegedly “stealing” Raila’s 2017 presidential victory.

“Had Uhuru Kenyatta not stolen Raila Odinga’s victory in 2017, Raila would have served his 10 years, acquired and bedecked the CGH moniker while alive—and not as some posthumous pity,” Miguna wrote.

He further questioned why the former president “never ceded power” in previous elections, insisting that the Luo community would never forget the injustices allegedly committed by Uhuru and his late father, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, against Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Tom Mboya, and other Luo leaders.

“Luos have never forgotten what his father did to Jaramogi, Mboya, Agwenge and millions of Luos over decades. Never, ever, tell us to forget! Despot Uhuru Kenyatta ought to have publicly apologized for his criminal transgressions and sought forgiveness from Raila while Jakom was alive,” Miguna added.

The exiled lawyer, known for his fiery political commentary, maintained that Uhuru’s visit to Raila's grave a day after burial was driven by guilt rather than sincerity.

“This was not a sign of genuine friendship. It was guilt. We uru tuk nyithindo!” Miguna wrote, using a Dholuo phrase loosely meaning, “stop playing childish games."

However, his post sparked mixed reactions online. One user, identified as @besfa1960, accused Miguna of hypocrisy, pointing out that he had in the past branded Raila a “conman” but was now defending his legacy.

“Ata yako ni hypocrisy, leo anaitwa Raila tena sio conman,” the user remarked — loosely translated as “You’re also being hypocritical, today you’re calling him Raila and not a conman.”

In a sharp rejoinder, Miguna dismissed the critic, defending his current remarks by stating that his reference was respectful given Raila’s passing.

“You are an idiot. Isn’t his name Raila Odinga and he is dead? Can a dead person be a conman or deceased?” Miguna fired back.

Miguna’s post and the subsequent exchange have stirred heated debate online, with Kenyans divided over whether Uhuru’s visit was a genuine gesture of respect or a symbolic act weighed down by past political tensions.

The controversy comes just days after the burial of the veteran opposition leader in Bondo, Siaya County — an event that drew both allies and former rivals, marking the end of an era in Kenya’s political history.
