WAMUCHOMBA SUSPENDED AFTER CLASH WITH MURKOMEN

National Assembly Speaker, Moses Wetang'ula has handed the Githunguri Law Maker Gathoni Wamuchomba a 20 sitting days suspension after a furious clash with the Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen over the bypassed gruesome Kware dumpsite killings.

Wetang’ula deemed Wamuchomba’s conduct as contemptuous in the face of the court, issuing a barment order against her.

“During the suspension, she will not be allowed to enter the precincts of Parliament or enjoy its facilities, including restaurants, gym, and office,” Wetang’ula said.

The Wednesday , 13, sitting saw the minister for Internal Security responding to the demands of the MPs over the state of affairs .
During this session, Wamuchomba resurrected the seemingly forgotten Kware killings, where mutilated female bodies where recovered from the Embakasi quarry dumpsite.

She inquired concerning the action taken by the ministry over the incident - considering the main suspect , Collins Jumaisi Khalusha and other 13 had escaped from Gigiri Police station on August 20 and not yet rearrested.
Police reports state that they had cut a wire mesh in the police cell and jumped over a perimeter wall.

In response, Murkomen confirmed the deployment of a National Police Service homicide unit, tasked to retrieve the dismembered human remains.
He further revealed an ongoing crackdown to rearrest the suspects and prosecute them after.

However, these responses did not click well with the enraged inquirer.

“Mr. Speaker, I refuse to sit in this House and listen to the CS confirm that his Ministry is unable to capture suspects who were previously under their custody," Wamuchomba muttered.

"It is not right… It has been three months since he disappeared. These are families in pain and grieving," She then continued clearly disappointed with the Ministry's effort, after which she walked out in protest - refusing to resume her seat even upon the Speaker's sermon.

"It is discourtesy to the house for you to ask a question, being prosecuted now with supplementaries, and then walk out. Go back and take your seat," Wetang'ula attempted to order her back but she was adamant - forcing him to dismiss her inquiry and suspend her.

"Members, those kinds of bravado and playing to the gallery do not help at all," the speaker continued warning the MPs against such outbursts, which he regarded as " bravado" aimed at impressing the public.
