9 YEAR OLD GRADE FOUR PUPIL FOUND DEAD IN SCHOOL DORMITORY IN NAROK

According to police reports, Duncan Caleb Rianto, a nine-year-old student at Narok Adventist Primary and Junior Secondary School, was discovered with severe neck injuries.
Investigators found traces of blood in multiple locations, including the school’s toilet, the entrance to the dormitory, and near the clotheslines. Authorities have since taken the school’s night guard into police custody.
Narok County Police Commander John Momanyi confirmed that the child passed away while receiving treatment at the Narok County Teaching and Referral Hospital. "This is a very sensitive and tragic case. We urge the public to remain calm as investigations continue," said Momanyi.
Caleb Rianto’s father shared his heartbreak over the unexplained circumstances surrounding his son’s death, recalling that he was at work in Kajiado when the school contacted him about Caleb’s condition. "I asked my sister, who lives near the school, to check on him. When I called her again, she was screaming, saying he was no more. It was the worst moment of my life," he said. His older son, a student at the same institution, was the first to notice Caleb missing during breakfast, prompting a search by classmates that led to the devastating discovery.
"I have no grudge with anyone. Why should they kill my innocent son? I am calling for justice," he said. Early findings suggest Caleb may have been assaulted in the school’s washroom before his body was relocated to the dormitory. The tragedy deeply unsettled the local community, with parents raising serious concerns about the school’s security protocols.
"We are scared. How can a child be murdered like this in a school place we entrust with our children's safety? As parents, we are ready to work with authorities to ensure our children are protected," one said. Many questioned the absence of staff during the incident and criticised the decision to move the child to the hospital prior to notifying law enforcement. In response, the Ministry of Education has ordered the school’s indefinite closure to allow for a thorough investigation. As inquiries continue, residents remain anxious and are calling for accountability, justice for Caleb, and stronger safeguards to prevent such incidents in educational institutions.
