DIAMOND, ZUCHU WELCOME BABY GIRL

Tanzanian music stars Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, marking a joyous new chapter in a relationship that has weathered public breakups, reconciliations and constant scrutiny from fans across East Africa.

The couple announced the birth on August 2, by sharing touching photos from the hospital shortly after the delivery. In the images, Zuchu is seen resting on her hospital bed while cradling their newborn daughter as Diamond stands beside them. To protect their baby's privacy, the couple covered the infant's face with an emoji.

Accompanying the photos, Diamond shared a heartfelt message, writing, "Welcome to the world, our precious little angel. You are already loved more than words can ever say!"
Zuchu later responded to the post with a brief but emotional message of her own, commenting: "My whole world."

The arrival of the baby girl comes just days after the pair hosted a lavish pink-themed baby shower and gender reveal celebration at Mbezi Beach in Dar es Salaam, where they revealed they were expecting a daughter.

During the glamorous event attended by family members and close friends, Diamond made headlines after gifting Zuchu $30,000 (approximately TSh78 million/KSh3.8 million). The singer described the gesture as both a show of love and a public apology following challenges the couple had faced in their relationship.

Their daughter's birth also caps a whirlwind few weeks that kept fans guessing about the future of their relationship.

In July, Zuchu had publicly announced that she and Diamond had parted ways after years together, saying she had chosen peace, healing and her career following what she described as years of disrespect. The announcement sparked widespread speculation that the couple's relationship had come to an end for good.

On July 30, Zuchu shared elegant maternity photographs showing off her baby bump alongside ultrasound images, while Diamond confirmed the pregnancy with the message, "New heart beats in the family."

For Zuchu, whose real name is Zuhura Othman Soud, the newborn is her first child. Diamond Platnumz, born Naseeb Abdul Juma, is now a father of five, having children from previous relationships with Zari Hassan, Tanasha Donna and Hamisa Mobetto.

Beyond their personal lives, Diamond and Zuchu have become one of East Africa's most recognizable celebrity couples since Zuchu joined WCB Wasafi in 2020. Their relationship became public in 2021 and later culminated in a traditional wedding in June 2025.
